OH Art Foundation is pleased to announce Synthesis: An AAPI Heritage Month Exhibition, a group exhibition running from May 20th to July 8th. We invite all to attend the opening reception, which will take place on the 3rd floor on Friday, May 20th from 7-10pm and feature live performances from Suwan Choi and Jeff Chan from 8:30-8:45pm at OH Art Foundation on 3rd fl. The exhibition will showcase the visual artwork of HeeKyung Yoo, Hyangsook Cho, Hwa Young Baik, InJung Oh, Jackie Andreas, Julie Kim, Jung Eun Lee, Joo Eun Lee, Jooseal Lee, and Soon Bae Lee.
Synthesis illuminates the work of Asian and AAPI artists who use a variety of mediums to explore, examine, and push the boundaries of the world around us. Some investigate concepts of identity and belonging; others delve into materiality and form. One thing remains constant: Synthesis is something that demands to be seen, heard, and experienced — a show that brings together a rich variety of voices to create a truly sensational space.
In conjunction with the exhibition opening, OH Art Foundation will host a free community workshop for children and youth between 7:00-8:30pm. Provided with a variety of multimedia materials, participants will be encouraged to reflect upon the exhibition’s artwork and create a piece of their very own to take home.
We invite all to join us this Friday to celebrate the work of these incredible Asian and AAPI artists!
Our AAPI Month programming and community art programs are made possible by the generous support of Blick Art Materials.
